Not necessarily the case, I've seen many dealerships rent out at a cheaper rate.

Would either one of you guys be able to provide me with a rate?? If not no problem, I will call up the dealership and ask for a quote.

22 years old, I need a vehicle tommorw evening before the dealership closes because I will be leaving for BC this thursday morning (6am) and will be able to return the vehicle next monday morning as soon as the dealership opens. Size wise I prefer, a mid or a full size.

Apperciate the replies guys

Yep just got off the phone with them. Really wierd how its unlimited KM's within AB and once you leave AB its 200km/day allowance.

I'm 23 and never had a problem renting up to a full size car through AVIS, Enterprise, Hertz.
just be prepared getting charged almost twice (young drivers fee iirc its called, around $30/day)

depending on the CS sometimes you can talk them about hooking you up with an SUV

I've rented with avis but that $30 fee per day is killer

because car rental companies have never heard of technology like GPS. Dont be a fucking retard. They will know exactly where you went.

While I think 25 is the minimum for most exotic rental places, I don't think you can really rent them in Calgary. I think ZR Auto dabbles in rentals but for ridiculous costs. In the states a newer ferrari/lambo was around $1800 for a day when I was looking, depending on the car. What kills you is you don't get many "free KM" then its like $2.00/km after that. You might be better off doing one of those things where you pay $1200 or so and they let you drive 5-6 different supercars for 30min each, but again I've only ever heard of that in the states.

If the cops pull you over and the rental agreement says "AB only" the car will be towed. Not sure if you'd get arrested but it wouldn't be pleasant.

I rented from Budget, adding BC to the agreement didn't raise the price and I still had unlimited km's. U-haul will rent a moving truck to youngins with a license, try them ;)

For enterprise there is no premium for being under 25. The only thing is if your 21-24 you can only rent up to a full size car, which isn't a problem in your case. Also it is $0.15/km, after your surpass the 200km/day limit. Atleast that's what I got charged when I rented from them in August.

I don't think they say that, I took one out of the country last year and he asked me for the rental agreement, I didn't have it with me. He asked if I told them I was leaving, I said no.....why would it matter? He told me to have it next time and let me go. I don't think it's anyone else's business where the car goes as long as it's back on time. Though I did have that car for 4 months.

Was just repeating what the rental guy told me. It's to prevent rental car theft.

I think it was thrifty I rented with last, and I went from edm to van island for a week. No one ever said anything to me, or charged me more.. I did notice some weird packs beside the center console, jammed down beside the seat.. No idea what they were but it was a hyundai.. could have been stock for all I know..

That's like me renting from Budget in Vancouver. Online it said it's only $10/day for being under 25, but when I got there, I had to get this mandatory insurance BS and ended up to be another 50 per day. I rented a Hyundai Accent for 4 days and it ended up to be like 360 bucks

there is coupon somewhere on redflagdeals forum that let you rent from enterprise under age 25 without paying the age-premium fee...

I work with enterprise.

There is no underage fee, you are just limited to a full size. nothing bigger. if anyone ever tries to charge you it, tell them there is no underage fee. They are just trying to get more money from you. For mileage: It's unlimited within the province, and 200/day then .15cents for anything after. Be nice enough to who you are dealing with and they'll give you more kms. And if you lie about not going out of the province, and you are caught by an officer. 9/10 we will get the cop to impound that vehicle on you.

when i was working at budget, a customer rented a vehicle and didn't tell us that she was going out of town, she took full insurance. She got into an accident in Saskatoon and totalled the car Budget said she had to pay for the car damage out of her pocket because she went into another province without telling us... I dunno what happeend to her case because i quit from there before the case was resolved. so ya telling the rental company that you are leaving the province or country is a good idea.

if you are under 25 you gotta pay the young driver fee, it was $34.50 when i worked at budget (2.5 years ago)

What about in BC? My younger sister just got back from Vancouver, rented with Enterprise, and she was charged $10/day for under 25.

I think official enterprise policy is for an underage fee but it was my understanding that reps have enough control over pricing that its pretty much their prerogative what to charge you.

I could be wrong, and it probably varies from location to location. Some of this I would have read on the consumerist.

Yeh, must be. Because I just priced an under 25 rental @ Vancouver airport location vs non airport, and there's no underage charge showing for rental at YVR location.
