We hear so many stories about how loyal animals (dogs/cats) are. Would you consider yourself loyal and do anything for your pet, even if it means risking your own life?

They are awesome. Totally worth delivering a right-cross to a shark.

I totally agree with him. my dogs are my kids, and would risk anything for them. I would not think twice.

Oh yea I already have, My dog ran away and I found him a couple yards down barking at my neighbors guard dogs (2 pinscher's). Of course he walked up to them and they started tossing him around. I ran up to one of them and clocked it right in the head with my foot then grabbed my dog and peaced. It was just second nature for me, seemed like all a blur for me.

For the people who said they would risk their life for their dogs....if put in a situation where you could save your dogs life or your childs life but in doing so you would die, which would you choose?

I would try my best to save my pets life, however, depending on the situation, if i knew right off the bat that I could die trying to save my dogs life, it might be a different story.

You'll never know how you are going to react until you are put into a situation like that.

I dont have a child and never plan on having any kids, and based on your question I understood that you were asking if we would save either one by risking our own life.

And my question was supposed to mean, even if you saved one or the other, you'd die anyway so which would you save...cause I know lots of ppl think and treat their dog/cats as their own children so curious to see the answer

to be honest, i dont know.
like i said, you never know how you are going to react until you are put into a situation like that.

either way, even if you realize that theres nothing you could trying to save your pet and/or kid, you are going to feel like shit for the rest of your life for not trying to save it.

At the end of the day, it's a fucking pet. Anyone who'd make a comparison between a dog and a child is either a complete fucking moron, or a disgusting excuse for a human being.

Would I jump in front of a truck to save my cats? What the fuck do you think?

Pets are not like kids... ok.. maybe only for a limited time... but after kids are older(12+), they can help contribute to society, they can help you with your housework, they can communicate.. and in the future they will earn money(most likely)... with a pet you will always be their bitch! you will buy them food, toys and clean their shit everyday!!

also a kid is like an appreceating asset, while a pet a depreciating asset....

sorry my spelling sucks...

And you're on a car forum full of depreciating car enthusiasts, instead of a real estate forum, full of (usually) appreciating asset enthusiasts. Obviously we're all going to go for the pets! :poosie:

I love my pets but I doubt I'd risk my life for them, and I sure as hell wouldn't save them over my imaginary kids.

Would a cat try to save to save your life?? Ya Right.

Dogs on the other hand. Many would.
I know my dog would lay his life on the line for me.
While I would like to think I would do the same in return, until the situation actually happens, who really knows.

Here is my little buddy. I love him like a kid and he would probably save me if he could. If it came down to it, I don't think I would risk my life for him, but as many have said, you never know unless you are in that situation. I wouldn't give a pet the same equality as a kid however as it is a different scenario. I have a daughter and another kid (unknown sex) on the way and I can honestly say that I would put my life on the line for either of them.

Shit, no pictures on my laptop (still at school :( )
I've got 2 cats though, and they're fucking awesome. Straight up, they're part of the family, just as much as anyone else is.

When my sister broke up with her boyfriend a while ago, she came home with a pitbull puppy in tow and at first I wasn't a fan of him, but i'll admit that little bastard grows on you.

Pics when I get home. (Which is probably never...because engg sucks.)

I honestly don't get dogs, so maybe I don't belong in this thread. Do you guys also have high pitched tones reserved only for talking to your dogs? My girlfriends family all do and nothing reduces them faster into babbling retards than their idiotic pomeranian.

This perceived dog loyalty is total bullshit. The dog only understands shitting, fucking and eating. Things that you as their master allow it to do; so it hangs around you because it wants to live. You then mistake that for love.

Maybe we are superior, but some animals are approaching English better than you are.

I don't think pet owners act like a pet's "slave" - they do what they do out of love. I look after my dog without complaining because that's what's required - so I have to clean up after her, so what? Is she going to do it herself? You sort of know that there's some caretaking involved when you get a pet...

what you really need is a wild pet.. that meets up with you in park when you call his name out... and he goes away when you go home.

^^No you're thinking of a hooker.

I love my cat but in reality I want a dog lol. A friend of mine spent 4000 to get surgery on his dog. Now in comparison, I don't spend 10 bucks to get my cat toys, especially since she loves the fucking mandarin orange box more than her actual bed.

Before we got a dog, I didn't know why people treated them so well. After we got one, we know why.

Our dog is always happy to see us when we come home from work, or when we wake up in the morning. I'd do what I can to help my dog out.

Not sure if any of you know the story Japanese dog Haichiko. He basically accompanied his master to the train station as he went to work every morning, and returned to greet him when he came back. His master had a stroke or something one day and never came back, but the dog kept on waiting. It kept returning to the station every day for 10 years until it finally passed away at the same train station.

So in return I'd do the same. Less the eating them part...:dunno:

In this no-win situation, I think children would take priority over pets any day. It sucks to say that, but that's how I think of it now.

But if I were risking my life, I'd do my damn best to save both, starting with the child.
