$3.15/gallon works out to be roughly 83 cents per liter. That's less than 90 cents/liter after exchanging for CDN! Why the huge difference in gas prices?!

Welcome to reality!

U.S. gas prices have always been significantly lower than Canada

(not to mention all the refineries that are right next to Houston)

really man 90cents per litre.. the price at the pumps is not high then for sure.. The fuel stations are paying for that fuel to be delivered which hikes the price a little bit..

Also some places are giving steep savings back on gas.. Sometimes I wonder how gas stations can stay open.. Probable becuase there are so many people that dont use meberships at gas stations and don't take advantages of discounts when buying certain amounts of fuel.

I don't know what octane rating they use in mexico, but last month in cancun, I asked our cab driver how much gas was and he said 80 cents per litre!

We are getting screwed

I drove from Atlanta to New York earlier this year and noticed the price of gas increased more as I went north. It's common sense that the stuff is more expensive the farther you are from the refinery it's being transported from. It's the same reason it costs you more money to send a letter to Mexico than to your neighbour.

Yeah?!?! Where do you think most of the refineries are over there? Did you happen to notice Caracas Venezuela as well? Refineries basically print their own money.

The governments in these countries, as well as Venezuela, actually subsidize gas prices for their citizens.

We get taxed and they get subsidized.

Simple as that.

I rather see $1.50/l gas than 30% off my stock porfolio.

I pay for the most expensive petrol, no fucking surprise there. Getting screwed up the ass pretty good in the UK isn't anything new lol.

Time to get rid of the Golf and get a bike anyway.

We get our oil from the gulf and TO is closer to them. All of the shit produced in Alberta goes to the States...

^^ and we have refineries closer no?
my friends in Calgary complain about gas prices all the time. Yesterday it was 1.05 for regular gas in a gas station in the GTA.

Okay so the thing about refineries being "too far" and that causing gas prices to be high makes no sense.

Within Alberta, we have a lot of production. Yet. We get nothing out of it.

There are a lot of taxes. It sucks how we always get shafted with prices.

States get the good stuff lol from both Alberta refineries and international

Simple... Toronto has a much bigger demand for gasoline and as we all know, the more you buy in bulk, the lower the price gets.

Umm boys the thing that we are missing here is that we HAVE refineries in Alberta!!!!!!!!

Esso - Llyodminister
Shell - Scotford
Petro Canada - Sherwood Park
Esso - Sherwood Park

Co-Op - Saskatchewan
Esso - Somewhere in BC

They just sell it to our neighbours down south...

I just drove from nova scotia this week, and filling the new truck is painful (140$ a couple times a day).. But I was surprised when I pulled into calgary and seen how high it was. Most expensive was northen ontario @ 1.36, it was 1.12 when I was in toronto, being the cheapest. Other wise most all places were in the 1.16-1.22 range...

I also drove down to NYC, it all depends where you are, even within the same state gas stations 5 miles apart can be like 15-20c different then one another. But yes a few weeks back NS was paying like 5.40/gal and they were at 3.80

Besides Venezuela having refineries all over the place, they run about 60 or 70 octane as well. You could get coffee that would run better in your car.
