Planning the one year anniv and need some help. I was thinkin of takin my gf to Ric's Grill but while browsing 'where.ca' I came upon Skazka Russian Restaurant and remembered that they once used to(and still might) had/have live band! Any other calgary restaurants offer this type of entertainment?

Don coyotes (sp) has a dance floor so you can eat and then dance.
Ive never been a fan of dancing, so i try and avoid it with the gf.

Vintage usually has some kind of jazz or blues band, it's it's been good when I'm there. Best call ahead to confirm the band though.

Morrocan Castle usually has a belly dancer on Friday nights

You could do Jubulations or Stage West (I don't really enjoy either)

Vintage has good bands but the food has gone downhill

Pegasus used to have a greek band that would play on Friday/Sat

You could do dinner at Piq Niq and go downstairs after dinner for dessert and to watch the band playing there

Muriettas has great food and there is usually some sort of music on the weekends

Aussie Rules is more of a lounge but they do the duelling piano thing, and have a decent menu. Try the crocodile.

there are a a few restaurants who hire belly dancers to come in and perform for about 20 minutes on Fridays and Saturdays...

Sambuca
Olive Grove (Midnapore)
Pegasus
Sahara
Mykonos

I'll look into more of them... Hope this helps too...

Went to a place called "KEY Bar and Grill" on 6th Ave and 10th ST SW. Upstairs of a liquor store.

They had Dueling piano's as well.

Food was descent, and good atmosphere. Mix crowd 20's - 40's
$4.50 Drink specials too.

Odd location thou, only went in cuz we were visiting a friend at his apartment, and had heard the noise from outside.

A while ago I went to a restaurant called Mcqueen's, it was above Cannery Row. They had live jazz, and the food was pretty good. I don't know if it's still open.
