is a 99 Honda CR-V better offroading than any domestic or any other ride? haha just want some opinions here. I quote from someone...

The offroading my 1999 CR-V has done probably ranks it #1 for that model in the world. And the 320K on it is an understatement considering for 4 years I had it idling 8 hrs a day on sites. You have no idea how wretched some of my sites are. They would tear domestics apart. Only my CR-V survives. So what, i've had to replace my tranny, it wasn't a mechanical issue. It was an electrical issue. Probably caused by submerging it one to many times.

Not really sure what this guy is smoking. There are plenty of domestics which would be better off-road than a CRV. The CRV was never intended as an offroad vehicle.... :dunno:

I used to have a Jeep TJ, and there is no way the CRV would compete offroad under ANY kind of test.

The Canadian Forces actually considered the CRV as a replacement for the aging Iltis fleet.

^ The Canadian forces still use SeaKings

Not a very strong argument. :D

It was probably considered because it fits in the budget... not because it was especially talented at offroading.

The offroading my 1992 Ford Escort GT has done probably ranks it #1 for that model in the world. And the 180K on it is an understatement considering for 6 years I had it idling 1 minute a day in my garage. You have no idea how wretched some of my parking spots are. They would tear imports apart. Only my 1992 Ford Escort GT survives. So what, I've had to replace my MAF, distributor, master cylinder, exhaust, sunroof motor, it was a mechanical issue. It was also an electrical issue. Probably caused by driving it one to many times. My story is just as true.
