Your welcome, but I got a ticket for doing it. I'm going to sue you because if you didn't exist, I wouldn't have flashed my highbeams.

I flashed a car once and it turned out to be another cop. He pulled a U'ey when he could and tried to follow me, but I think he lost me among the other cars. Now I'm scared to flash people.

you get a ticket when you flash other cars?

It falls under the category of stunting, which is total crock of shit because basically everything you do falls into the category of stunting.

The stunting ticket you get for flashing oncoming traffic will always get tossed.

I always flash oncoming drivers when I've passed a speed trap as I appreciate the notice in return.

FWIW, any of you that drive the very South end of Macleod Trail (between 162 and 194) either Northbound or Southbound, be very careful. I drive through there a couple times a day (getting into the South end of Chaparral) and the cops have traps set up at least three times a week.

I flash all the time when I see photo radar. And I still see the other guy getting a ticket. I guess some people don't know that

flashing = cops ahead mofo

Now if someone is behind is behind you and flashing, thats a different issue. That means "Move your slow ass over so I can pass you!"

I can't count the amount of times I've been saved by someone flashing their lights at me. I do it all the time.

I've never done it, where I come from flashing means moose. Someone flashed me once so I jammed the breaks and slowed down to 10, cars behind me were pretty upset. I didn't know and didn't want to die. :dunno:

i know people that have gotten stunting tickets for riding their motorcycles with one hand

which is wierd..because if your lights don't work, you're supposed to signal with your left arm haha...sooo uh wtf

I always flash aswell, got saved one time going through a playground zone at 50km/hish (didn't know it was a playground zone) when a old guy with his wife in a miata flashed his lights at me and saved my ass.

I flashed my headlights at someone once to let them know there was a cop ahead, he friggin flashed his highbeams back at me repeatedly and rapidly. It probably would've given some poor grandma driving behind me a seizure :banghead:

That was one of the last times I ever did that.

or... turn on your damn light!
it is unbeleivable how many people cant figure out that they do not have their lights on when you do this :nut:

My parents that you flash oncoming when theres a hazard or a speed trap set up.

I flash people all the time but I haven't seen anyone flash me for obvious speed traps or accidents for years.

People should start doing this again. Why not teach it as a safe driving practice?

In other countries people flash you, and its a normal way of communicating while driving. Here in NA, like honking, it seems people take offense to it.

yea i know it's so stupid, I always flash oncoming traffic just incase, but I'm guilty for flashing lights back, but only because it's so confusing when the car has HID lights, cause sometimes it's really blinding.

In other countries flashing has a variety of meanings
one could be behind you telling you that they want to pass
another is for cops as said here
one more when you are passing someone or about to pass, oncoming drivers let you know they are there

during night driving, if a driver suspects that you are tired and your car isn't going in a nice and straight line or its moving on the line or just something suspicious, they flash to "wake" you up or get your attention

there are a few more..

i always flash, wasn't there a court case where they overturned a ticket for flashing your high beams which nows means it is fine? I mean how is flashing dangerous when a photorader flash is 100x brighter and more dangerous?

Last time I was in Calgary, somebody saved me a ticket coming down 14th St. Much obliged Calgarians. I can't return the favor(s) because I have no high beams =\

If you turn your lights on and off its the same thing. Bikers patting their helmet also means cops.
