First off do any of you have one? I purchased a 93 325i. Ordered HID kit for it only to find out that it has sealed beam lights. But everywhere i look they say that year should have the 9006 lights. So if i order a whole new light off ebay with the angel eyes and hid's built in will it be plug and play?

I've never bought them off ebay, but Depo's, ZKW's, Apexcones, etc... are plug and play. However, I'd recommend against Apexcones. The wiring harness is crap. It looks like its been melted and the connectors don't even make a full connection. I can just poke mine with my fingers and the lights flicker on and off like some neon light show. If you want, talk to Steven from ASPtuning.com. He's a local guy and he can hook you up with something nice. Ask for the Depo's.

The DEPO headlights are good (I have them) but the ZKW's are the best. Should be plug and play, or minor splicing work.

Haha. It's not everyday you run into a Japanese BMW.

But yeah, just go with what e36bmw said and get yourself some H1 bulbs. If you're still bent on angel eyes, just talk to Steven at asptuning.com.

And I'm never gonna pick up a set of Apexcone's again. Not with the headache I had to deal with getting them running right.

TSX projectors retrofitted into ZKWs are the way to go.

ok but i can't even figure out how to remove the bulbs...they look hard wired in. like i'd have to replace the whole lamp. Yes they are the bosch and smoked at that... so i don't want to lose them.

Impossible! Unless someone in Japan totally messed up your lights... You sure you didn't see any clips on the inside? Maybe make a run to an auto parts store and ask them to take a look and see if they can pull them out and hook you up with some new ones. Or otherwise, I'm sure someone here can take a look. If you're near UofC, I wouldn't mind taking a break to check and see.

I've had an Apexcone wiring harness crap out on me. And although they have a warranty, it only applies to the person who originally purchased it, and then it took them about 3 months to send me a new harness.

LOL. Another one falls victim to Apexcone's wonderful wiring harness. If they crap out on you, just hardwire them in. You don't need to pull out the harness to change the bulbs anyway.

I did it and wrote the DIY. You are welcome to check them out but they're no longer installed. (Sold the car.)

Ok so there's my point, that DIY is absolute ridiculous for the average guy who drives his car everyday and doesn't have 12 hours to spend.

By all means, very impressive, just not worth the time and money.

It was worth it to me. If you saw the beam shots on the second page, you might change your mind.
