Kinda tired of the torrent throttling!
Any alternatives other than Bell or Telus?

If you got throttled, you're doing it wrong.

Are you using u-torrent, encrypting headers, make sure port forwarding is set up, use the speed guide in u-torrent to find out. I usually get around 300-400 kb/ps on a good torrent with shaw...

edit: just started a download ,peaked out at 490 kb/sec

I use Bitcomet and yet I experience my shaw modem goes down after like 5 min.... and I have to unplug it... and wait 10 seconds and plug it back in and it seems to work... but not really.

I thought I read that the OP was on Shaw Lite... That may be affecting him (not that I know what Shaw Lite entails)...

Maybe upgrade to regular cable if this is the case. I pay $40 a month just for internet.

I'm on Shaw and I've gotten close to 600kb/s and 400-500kb/s is not uncommon for me. Best upload is ~50kb/s.

Hey, is Kung Fu Panada out on DVD yet?

If you are on Shaw Lite, then you live up to your user name.

Get standard or Extreme-I and follow sr20's instruction on U-Torrent.

If you go to Telus, I can pretty much guarantee you'll come back to Shaw.

Telus is slow and has brutal customer service.

With Telus not by choice... but its manageable.

I max out at about 350 kb/sec down...internet hasn't been down at all, but once inawhile my telus tv will cut out.
