WTF: 5speed beater car

Hey guys,

Did a quick search but didn't find much so starting this thread. As mentioned in the title, I'm looking for a running beater car with manual transmission. The wife has agreed on learning 5 speed and I'd love to have her drive the 325i but I really don't want to teach her on the bimmer. She's a new driver as it is, she needs some good practice on stick and driving around town (Airdrie) to gain confidence.

Obviously dont want to spend too much ... around $500ish for a running beater with stick shift .. enough so it doesn't break down on me or requires maint. Only really need to run it for a month or two for teaching then I'm done with it.

PM me with what you have or any better ideas if you have been in similar situations before.

AMA, they provide the car and it should cost less then 500$.

Yea I considered that actually. Couldn't find a course less than $700 buck at first but then I also figured that the course will only give her access to their car for 5 days (10-15 hours), maybe a day or two more if we can customize the course but personally speaking you need more practice on clutch before you are at a point where you are not damaging the clutch/transmission ... so I figured to spend the money on a car she can practice on for a month or two? :dunno:
