Does anybody know where I can buy larger sheets of foam locally? I'm looking for around 4x8 ft in a high density 1-1.5" foam and also a 1/4" closed cell foam. I have searched yellowpages and called numerous places, but haven't had any luck.

Anybody know any places?

Thanks, but they can't cut pieces as large as I need. Anywhere else...?

Also, anybody know why foam is so expensive, lol... basically around $125 for a 4x8 sheet 1" thick.

Building a poker table?

I would get a shipping quote from www.yourautotrim.com. Might be cheaper even with shipping/duty/taxes....

Try checking out http://www.sureline.ca/

The company I worked for before used you purchase foam from them for shipping boxes and what not.

Been a while since I ordered from future foam but I used to get larger than 4x8 sheets of foam for the poker tables I built from them.

Try crummers poker supplies as well I think they are a CDN poker table supplier

When I was into Models I used foam for models.
And Rona has sheets and sheets of them which you can buy.

I've already gotten quotes from YAT and crummer. So far even with s/h cost, YAT is the cheapest.

I just called sureline and he's also around $130/sheet.

I'll keep looking but may eventually bite the bullet and order from the States.

Yeah, I've already built about 15, but haven't built any since I've been in Calgary. I was hoping to find someone locally to deal with, but I think I'll have to continue to order south.

I've got a couple custom tables on order and nowhere in Canada has selection like YAT.

I don't know if this is quite what you are looking for, but home depot has the pink foam sheets for insulation, they come in thicknesses up to 2" thick (I think). Some of them are all dinged up and broken, but you could probably find a couple straight ones there.

I'm not looking for a rigid foam...

Any location in particular? I'll have to go take a look.

Place up on 32 Ave NE, in the same complex as Coco Brooks and PM Hobbycraft - bought some foam there the other day to rebuild one of the seats in my truck. Sorry, don't remember the name. They might have something that would work for you??

Are you talking about Sureline?

I've talked with them and everywhere seems to be around $125+/sheet.

Army & navy is right behind t&t supermarket. Foam there is pretty cheap. Can't rmb sizes to prices. But I used to work there. Give them a shout

What about foam suitable for car seats?

EDIT: Never mind. Will check out Sureline! Any other places so I can shop around?

Fabricland has a bunch of different thicknesses, they cut them from a big roll. See if you can go with someone with a membership, as it can save you up to 50%
