So im a student at the university, and last week i cracked my buddies macbook screen :banghead:
since the repair is almost 1000 w/ parts and labour, i figure that looking to the used market for a better deal is a good option.
anyways im willing to spend no more than $800 and im looking for an 06 or 07 model.

I hope I don't get banned for posting that.
But try searching eBay for repair services too. My friend spilled water all over his macbook, paid $450 and they swapped the motherboard and it's fully functioning again.

I've got a fair bit of experience replacing laptop components like that - done a few screens in my day. I've never been inside a Macbook, but I assume it's the standard ultra-tiny ribbon cable deal.
Anyways, let me know if you end up going the route that Mike suggested. Good luck.
(Also, if you don't, let me know - I'd be happy to buy the broken unit off you to fix it myself. =) )

I had my Macbook screen replaced under warranty a month ago, the total invoice was 550ish.
