well I don't really post much, but I thought this was pretty cool. When I was waiting at a red light, a blue r32 passed me. Wasn't paying much attention, so I couldn't grab a picture.

Looked fairly new, blue, rhd, and a weird german plate.
Any info.

2 times in BC this summer i've seen german plated vehicles.

first there was a camper van in front of me at the ferry lineup the decal said 'Volkswagen California' looks like a Eurovan but newer.
Had a european union blue flag license plate with a D, german obviously. I asked him how the hell did he bring that here, he says in this thick german accent 'I come to camp in Canada by boat' :nut:

the second on the Coquihalla on the side of the road, a Mercedes Unimog camper, quite possibly the craziest camper truck i've ever seen, a 4 step fold-out ladder to get to the camper sporting a european union license plate front and back didn't catch the country tho.

I've seen a ton of R32's around now that the bumper laws have been harmonized.

MKIV > MKV

VS

MKIV is 300lbs lighter, and 24 seconds faster around nurburgring, plus it has a superior interior, and it's cheaper.

MK4 R32 is wayyyyyyyy hawter than the bleh looking MK5 IMO.

Such a perfect car to have for Calgary driving. Seen a couple MK4's around and one or two MK5's.

The one at SCFC is over-priced for surez.

my buddy has a red MKIV r32. It still has Washington plates on it, and is Edmonton. I can't wait to see how it will do in auto-x next year.

I can confirm this.

I work with Alan.

He is from England. He had the car shipped from the UK to Seattle for 1700 bucks (CDN).

he gets pulled over all the time because he still runs his UK plates. He is not legally allowed to register the car here because of the 15 year rule. I think he only plans on working here for a year or so then he is heading back with the car.

super nice guy with a unique car
