I have a parcel coming to me, according to the tracking it's been in customs for over 3 weeks now, Legally from what I've read, customs can only hold it for 3 weeks, so I'm not convinced that it's not lost, and i contacted the sender to put in a trace, they said they spoke with USPS and it may be up to 90 days before we hear anything, to me this is a ridiculous time frame, can anybody help me?

Have you tried contacting Canada Post? If it's still on the US side of the border, they can't really do much. IIRC, it doesn't have to go through US Customs first before being checked by Canada Customs, does it?

They can hold it forever if they want. Until all the paperwork is cleared they can't/won't release it. They may also have lost it. I've had parts stuck in customs for 2 months before, they didn't like the paperwork so they wouldn't release it.

you should be getting the sender to deal with it. It's still his responsibility until you receive the package.

it's just a battery for My RC car, the sender ships out probably 10+ parcels a day to canada.

so i did a little more digging and called customs, the office that it went to in Quebec has never registered the parcel, that means they're not holding it, Canada post/usps has lost it... but it will take up to 90 days for USPS to do a trace and advise of the situation... that time frame is just bullshit... i love how govt agencies can get away with such garbage service.
