I'm 19 at the time, my mother has to drive me out to my Uncle's in Innisfail so I can finish up some work on a car.

While we are driving along, she starts talking about my GF at the time. My sister is along for the ride. No attack from this woman, I agree with you 100%. I also think that men (or rather boys at that age) get so sex crazy in large part due to the expectation that they should "get some" and get lots of it. Sure they have hormones, but so do girls. But it's based on the expectations around them. Men are kings if they do it, girls are sluts. But because the guys need to be 'kings' in their group of friends, the 'sluts' get all of the attention. Since a lot of girls like attention, it comes down to the moral decision of sex or no sex. Slut or prude (since for girls in high school, there is no middle ground). Men often screw it up for themselves though. The guys who are identified as 'kings' will often lose out on the 'good girls' when they're ready to stop getting the easy sluts. Any hope of a real relationship often goes down the tubes if he sets his romantic sights on one of the 'prudes'. She'll just choose not to put herself in the path of someone who she would assume to be one to pressure her, and the cycle of king vs. slut will continue.

If the expectations of society were different, I think the stats and 'titles' would be too. However, that will never happen, and will always be the double standard. Anyone is kidding themselves if they think that will change *cough, cough* feminists *cough*
