Thought I would post a couple of pics from this weekends offroad experience. As you can see things didn't really go as plan. Led to a 6 hour recovery with the help of the cn4xc group!

Everyone was fine. I am hoping I can just put new glass in it, eventhough the window frame is bent. Besides that the dents just add character (at least that is what I am telling myself) :D

i dont even understand why the thing rolled over, doesnt look like a hard angle. but again thats why you dont offroad with a toyota. they are so narow and tip easily.

Pictures don't do it justice. Side slope was quite high.

Got both front wheels up on the ledge (about a 4 foot ledge). Then tried to bump the rear wheels up, but lost traction and the left front wheel dropped off and the truck tippped.

Not sure you know much about toyotas, but LCs are not narrow, and I have had this truck places that a lot of "big trucks? couldn't get too.

Here is the only pick I have of the damage so far. Once we recovered the truck, just refilled the fluids and drove her home!

Yep,

Nothing at all. When we put it back on its wheels I was afraid that it would pop the bead on the tire, but it didn't and everything was fine.

I was running a bit high on saturday, probably why the bead held. Had about 12psi in them.

That spot is super trickey, I have done it many times, never flipped my jeep but came close a few times. Those pics dont do that trail any justice. Hope you get your yoda fixed up and back out.

After every rain that spot gets worse and worse. I remember being able to do the ledge in a stock gwagen a few years back. Even at the begining of this season the ledge wasn't too bad, but it is getting to the point where you don't have the approach angle to get the front wheels up.

need good gearing, torque and nice soft grippy tires (I saw a stock rubicon with 31's and 9psi in them crawl over them like it was nothing.)

need good axle articulation aswell

Not over the the highest section. The ledge at the highest section is around 45" high now. There is no way a Rubi would get his tires to the ledge.

woah i was up that rail a few months ago...was not to bad.. i got a 97 cherokee lifted on 35's and i took it like it was a pce of cake...
well at least your truck is full frame, if i roll my truck its a wirte off since its unibody... and did you dissconect your front swap bar..? i always do when i go out wheeling for that extra flex in the front.... if you didnt try that next time, but make sure to put it back on for the drive home so you dont get mad body roll on the highway haha

I don't have sway bars.

Last time i was over that spot 2-3 months ago the ledge was probably 6" shorter that it is now. I can imagine what it will be like after spring runoff next year.

nice, good to see a Landcruiser where it performs best, the Malaysian government uses tons of these 80 series, 70series Prados and old school land rovers all fitted with snorkels etc for their reliability and ability to get you to the jungle village in the middle of nowhere past the washed out road, through the door handle deep rivers during monsoon season
They call it 'The ninja turtle VX', whotf knows why.

where is this 'secret' spot on top of the world mind i ask, looked like fun

I know the spot you are talking about. That is the Prittis Trail direction to top of the world. I was actually coming from fisher trail. That ledge is fun too, there is an easy way and also a couple hard ways over that ledge.

Yep. you take a hard right from where your picture was, over the ridge and down the side of the hill with a big dropoff on the left.

Nope sold the FJ40 when I bought this truck. The a-pillar is bent though so I may have to take it to screamin to get it pulled out!

Been to busy to do anything with it. Will most likely take it to Dan at Screamin to see what he can do with it.

I remember going down that specific ledge, that was hard and was only able to accomplish it with the help of some people by the means of guiding me as far around that step as possible.
