I bought a blank transponder key for my 'yota on eBay and I need it cut to match my keys.

Haven't had great luck with Can-Tire/RONA type shops in the past with this, so can anybody recommend a reputable shop that will cut this blank for a reasonable price?

Would prefer it if they were in the SE near deerfoot meadows.

TIA :)

you are correct, you also have to program the car to accept the new RFID chip. I've got that part covered already.

bought the key for 22 all in from eBay, whereas a key from the dealer cut+programmed is closer to 80-100. So if it costs me a couple bucks to cut it I am way ahead.

As long as you can program it yourself, you should be fine cutting a replica. Most of the time when I get a key cut i try and file it down a bit to dull the edges and they seem to work much better.
