If Chrysler and GM merge, does this mean that chrysler vehicles will be designed by GM and just badged with a chrysler logo? I really, really hope not because I don't want to see all those good brands turning into crappy cavalier-style vehicles.

Considering your location says you live in "Kwobech" I am quite confident that if you just bitch, whine and moan about how it will affect your sovereignty and/or heritage for a couple months the feds will earmark a few hundred million to ensure a few models are left just the way you like them.

:)

why would you want cab-forward? if you haven't noticed, most 'performance' cars are moving to something like nissan's FM (front-midship), shoving the engine back over the front wheels..

ZOMG!! There's no cab-forward cars!!

Chrysler cancelled cab forward design in 2004 so I dont see this being a current issue.

Don't forget the Dodge Avenger (more of the same Sebring shit). Then there is the PT cruiser which for some reason is still sold by Chrysler. Let's not forget the wanna be jeep, the Compass. Oh wait, aren't the Patriot and the Caliber just rebadged Compasses?

hmm....

Hmm... And they wonder why they are going out of business...
They have a crappy car that isn't meeting Sales expectations, and so they decide rather than, oh, I dunno... IMPROVING on it, they'll just change the skin and badge, and sell it at one of their other marques.

After they axed the neon srt4 I just don't care anymore.

Although cab forward is pretty nice.

Totally. That Neon SRT4 was FAST and looked good. Sounded GREAT.

The Caliber SRT is a bit of a joke in comparison.

Chrysler is much better than GM on all fronts. GM fucked themselves by making a plethora of rental vehicles. They have nothing I want other than the diesel truck, an escalade and the vette. I wouldn't buy ANY of their other SUV's or cars.

Isuzu ( http://www.isuzucv.com/nseries/index.html )
Ford ( http://www.ford.ca/app/commercial/en/vehicles/lcf.do )
GMC ( http://www.gm.ca/gm/english/vehicles/commercial/wseries_tilt_cab )
all refer to them as Low Cab Forward

interestingly, Mack refers to them as cabover. ( http://www.macktrucks.com/default.aspx?pageid=49 )

we both win.

the Envoy/Trailblazer is a fucking terrible vehicle what are you talking about

Hypnotoad, and CUG, I must respectfully make a counter argument.

I don't think Chrysler as an entity produces superior vehicles to GM. Certainly not in terms of cars. I don't know much about either of the brands trucks or SUVs, so I won't go there.

But...
In 2007, the Aura took the award for North American car of the year from Toyota and Honda. The year after, the Malibu won. I can't remember when those awards were handed to a Chrysler vehicle.

Do a quick search or read any of the mainstream automotive publications, and you'll see that there are a great deal of GM products that are earning accolades for being quality machines.

With all that said, theres a number of Chrysler products I would love to have in my garage (the Viper, Challenger SRT, and SRT-4 come immediately to mind).

I do agree with you however that GM did screw itself over by making a large amount of fleet vehicles... But part of their '07 fiscal plans for their turnaround was to significantly decrease their fleet vehicle productions. Guess who jumped in to fill that void?

haha, anytime I see a Sebring or Sebring convertible, it is always a rental. Who would buy one of those?

What exactly is the difference between an Escalade and a Suburban anyways? From what I can tell visually, it's just cosmetics/baller status symbol with the Escalade. Someone educate me on this. :dunno:

2005 North American Car of the Year (http://cars.about.com/b/2007/01/07/saturn-aura-wins-2007-north-american-car-of-the-year-should-it-have.htm)

The 300, in 2005 won Motor Trends Car of the year, Car and Driver's 10 best (also again in 2006), North American Car of the year and Canadian Car of the year. It also hasn't had a major facelift / changes yet which it would need to compete for these awards again in the following years.

Seems fine whenever I get one as a rental. They drive nice and are comfortable.

Oops, my bad!
I guess perhaps I should have done my homework before that statement...

If any Chrysler vehicle deserves to win, its the 300. That admittedly is actually a fairly cool car.
