Is anyone on Beyond an airline pilot, or knows anyone that is a pilot? What's the demand for commercial and regional pilots?

I work for an F.T.U, i've seen alot of guys come in and get their CPL and get a job right away being 1st officers (highly likely you'll start out in the right seat to get some airtime and learn the aircraft, i can't see many places just up and making you a captain with minimal hours unless they were SUPER desperate, no offence),

the demand for regional is always good, by regional i mean 'twatters'/king airs up to dash 8s. I heard cargo hauling is the best way to get hours, like find a company needing constant flights up north to drop off supplies or air taxi in small twins like a seminole/navajo or 310/320, you'll get good training and time in multi IFR type aircraft. or even maybe look for a place with caravans.

just look here at the pilots/1st officers needed, will hopefully give you an idea.

hope that helps!

yeah the industry is fairly hot right now still, however things are starting to slow down. I got my start as a flight instructor and things have worked out pretty good so far(I currently fly for a regional airline). You just can't be in this industry for the money that's for sure!

Me, a pilot? I'm not that dumb thank you, and I like being married. I'm an A.M.E. (Aircraft mechanic).

I don't fly them, but I get to taxi them all over the airport :D
