I'm looking for a race/show chassis. I have a 20v 7A-GE engine under construction I need a body for. I'm looking for one of two options:
Performance option:
1985 or 1986 hardtop MR2
LHD or RHD doesn't matter
Sunroof equipped cars are not completely out of consideration, but the sunroof reduces the stiffness of the chassis, and so, the value.
Looks option:
1987-1989 T-top MR2
LHD or RHD doesn't matter
Supercharged or N/A doesn't matter (Supercharged preferred for performance, N/A for money)
LSD is preferred but very rare, so not at all necessary
For both options:
Must have a manual transmission.
Bodywork required must be minimal.
Rust must be limited to surface rust or in very easily repaired areas.
The wheel wells must be in good shape. Especially the rear.
Interior must be intact, but not necessarily in good shape.
Brake, suspension, exhaust and audio system conditions are irrelevant.
I would prefer to find something before the engine is ready to install in a car. I have one that the 1.6L parts came from, but it's pretty rough. As the engine gets closer to being complete, I'll be more motivated to compromise, so if you have something even close, let me know. I'm in Edmonton, but very willing to travel. As long as it's in good shape I'm willing to pick up anywhere in SK, AB or BC.
