Just wondering if any parents out there are entering their kids in this contest. I think every parent thinks their kids are the cutest. Being a first time father myself, I can't help but to think my son is the cutest. It's hard to see how cute a kid is based on only one picture. I think it will end up being more of a popularity contest.

All the kids are adorable, and I wish you all the best.
So all of you should set up facebook groups and add all your friends and family to vote.

But there is a special little guy in the contest as well, there is a facebook group for the boy named Noah.

Noah was born with a life threatening heart condition. The moment he was born he was whisked away and put on life support. For 11 days he was medically paralyzed awaiting his first open heart surgery. On the 11th day he had stage one of a heart repair done. He was on life support for another month. Shortly after this we were told he was blind and had a metabolic disease that would take his life in mere months. A month after this news we were told he had a life threatening twisted bowel and went for emergency surgery for this. They also inserted a feeding tube into his stomach at the same time. We took him home for the first time when he was 5 months old. But that was short lived. He was taken to the hospital in an ambulance just days following his arrival home. He was in heart failure and was air lifted to Edmonton for emergency open heart surgery. One month after this he went into heart failure again and this time they couldn't do anything but let him go or give him a heart transplant. We opted to do this and at just 6.5 months of age he had his fourth major surgery, his third open heart surgery - a transplant! 3 months later we learned the heart was severely diseased...we are waiting to see if he needs to have another transplant right now. Noah has miraculously come through so much. Including now being able to see! A miracle! Also he does not have a metabolic disease! Noah is fed through a tube in his stomach and never eats or drinks anything with his mouth. He takes many, many meds and constantly goes to the hospital for unpleasant testing. He's had a rough life...but that smile makes it all worthwhile!

gorgeous kids everyone! It's gong to be a very tough competition. And it is just a popularity contest. thats why i'm enlisting everyone I know LOL. But no matter what the outcome is Angelynn is still the most beautiful little miracle baby to me.
(barmanjay is my hubby he beat me to the post)

Jay had posted on here almost a year ago about the possible premature birth of Angel. She was born nov.12/07 at 24 weeks 5 days gestation at over 3 months premature.She weighed only 1lb 8oz.
She had a heart surgery and laser eye surgery and was in the hospital for 104 days. So she's a pretty special little lady.
Today she's almost a year old and sitting by herself. She's also almost 18 lbs :eek:
Just wanted to add her little story so you could all know a little bit more about her. I have her facebook group as well which is slowly growing. I have alot more pics up on there.

This contest is bugging me already. Everyone I know with a kid is now spamming me with this to declare their kid the cutest in the world.

Not to be an ass, but nothing is special about your kid. Everyone loves their kids and thinks they are cute. Trying to prove that they are any cuter than your neighbors kid is ridiculars.

Do your kids (and everyone else) a favor and leave them out of this nonsense. When they're old enough to brag, they'll tell the other 5 year olds that they're officially the cutest kid, and probably get punched, and grow up to be a pain in the ass.

Let them be kids and stop worshiping them.

I agree with you guys, this contest is already pissing me off. I've rejected probably 5 facebook group invites of the "vote for me! I have the cutest spawn!" variety. I know it's going to be a giant spam-a-thon with emails and messages every day saying "Dont forget to vote today!", so I just said no thank you right from the get go. Seriously, people get one vote a day and I'd say most Calgarians are well over that quota of people hounding them to vote for their kid.

Just an FYI of something I was told by a friend tonight (not sure of it's validity but he has no reason to make it up). They got over 23,000 entrants into this contest. The reason for the 3 day wait before they post the gallery is because they are in the process of widdling it down to just a few hundred. Seriously, can you imagine having to wade through 23,000 entries to find the "cutest kid" in calgary? Give me a break.

I was getting annoyed of them. But I finally did it today because my wife really wanted me too post those annoying FB groups.

All parents are biased towards their kids. But the prizes are too good. It's worth a shot. It doesnt cost a thing to enter so why not.

My daughter is costing me a fortune, it's time for her to pay me back by winning this competition.... hahahhaa

I am not a parent....I have no idea how it feels to be a biological father to a beautiful baby...

That being said, if your baby does not win, does that predispose the child to be a loser for the rest of it's life??

The first thing the child ever tried to do was be cute and it lost at that...:D

i have a young daughter... it totally is a popularity contest. But you don't lose anything. And I know my daughter isn't going to win. And thats ok it's not like I won't love her any less!! I just like to show her off because she's very special. She almost died for crying out loud. so I have no problems doing these contests. Vibe should have known there would be this many entries and should have put a cap on it.
But it's just for fun. I know there's alot of cute kids and I hope that cute, well deserving family wins the prize.

I know. This wasn;t the way I envisioned this contest going. Like anyone is going to go through 2500+ pictures and then think they know which ones the best. It is a popularity contest now. The funny thing is we specifically didn't put the picture I posted above (Which we both think is her best picture) because it wasn't taken by us, but you look through the galleries and there are tons of studio pictures which was against the rules. Oh well we'll see. Lots of cute babies on here, but by no means does it mean if you have the cutest kid. It means you were able to take the majority of the votes.

yeah i left my daughter out of the contest...no reason to join..she is a very cute girl but i know its all popularity vote..so i was not going to waste my time doing it..

Vibe should have limited the entries to 100 or something. Over 2400 is a bit much imo
