So for the first time I actually decided to pay for an mp3 album. I tried walmart and amazon, and both won't sell to Canada. And I don't want that iTunes AAC BS. I guess I will just rapidshare it. Now I don't feel bad about not paying those music industry fuckups. Sucks for the artist though.

Is this a rant? Or a "can you help me find a different site" thread. LOL

There are ways around the iTunes AAC stuff. Take a look at a piece of software called "doubletwist". It strips the DRM stuff fromt the AAC file.

If it's available for the album, buy iTunes Plus. No DRM and the songs are higher quality anyway, for the same price.

Also, check out http://www.junodownload.com/ if it's a dance/electronic track. They've got 320 kb/s DRM-free MP3s on there for really good prices. And http://www.7digital.com/ will be launching a Canadian site really soon.

Or, here's a thought, go buy the CD and rip it yourself.

Such a novel concept.

Dumb question... what's "wrong" with iTune's AAC files? :dunno:

What's "DRM"?

I think it's Digital Rights Management, makes it more difficult to copy the song...in theory. I've bought a few tracks from iTunes, used iTunes to convert it to mp3 and then loaded it on to various mp3 players and mp3 CDs. DRM never said boo :dunno:
