I used to frequent the smaller shops but I’m starting to like the bigger shops again. Costco, Tirecraft, Kal Tire, etc. Mostly because the small shops are always so busy that the customer service suffers too much. I like to be able to call, get an answer right away, get tires installed the same day with a warranty. If I get a flat I can just drop in and have it fixed without much wait. The small shops just can’t cover that without massive downtime. I just don't have the time in my life anymore to sit, wait and twiddle thumbs.

I find Kaltire, Blaskin & Lane etc find it annoying that someone's calling them and treat you like an annoyance at this time of year rather than a valued customer. I just ended up giving up on those guys and paid full price to get it done at the Ford dealership I sometimes use. They did it within a few hours and it saved me days of shopping around etc. It was worth a hundred bucks or so more for less hassle and nice treatment.

I've been going to Mike at TireCraft for years. Macleod/57th 255-5592. Call them up and say rage2 sent you. Good prices + good service. Sometimes it isn't about saving the most money!

As much as I enjoy the freedom of information, I don't think it's fair for someone to gather as many quotes as they can for the purpose of simply posting it on the internet in comparison. Tire & wheel prices vary from distributor to distributor depending on where they are coming from and the amount of stock being carried. "CLiVE" is probably a cool guy, but his numbers cannot be accepted as accurate. Maybe just as a point of reference.
