I tried it yesterday. It was alright, but I thought the cheese was a bit too stringy and not creamy enough. Mushrooms were alright though... for fast food standards.

OK, I'm eating one right now. A few comments:

1) man this bacon is really hard and dry. I definitely went at a bad bacon time. at least they put a lot on.

2) Extra sauce FTW.

3) Since when did Wendy's reduce the medium to a small, and the large to a medium, and introduce an extra large? I ordered a combo and she asked "small, med, or large?" to which I replied "Med," thinking I would get the standard combo-sized fries and drink. but NOOOO - and here I sit holding 2 pints of pop and a pound of fries, and got charged like $0.80 extra for it!!!

4) did they get rid of the talktowendys.com survery where you get a free single burger? cause that's all i've had at wendy's for like the last year... why spend money if you can just get perpetual free single burgers? all i got tonight was a regular plain white receipt. :cry:

I just had my first double down yesterday... I was actually surprised I didn't find it too heavy, but it was entirely too salty. There isn't a second one in my future.

This thread popped into my head at wendys when I was about to order my usual spicy chicken burger, but then I decided to go the bold new road of bacon mushroom melt... boy was I disappointed.

The bacon was quality for fastfood, but the mushrooms and that sauce (is it cheese?) lacked flavor other than saltyness.

Yeah, they bacon is actually crispy and resembles real bacon compared to the soggy thin anorexic strips they use to put on.

I've never had the Baconator but for fast food burgers, the best bacon is at A & W. Starts out thick and after cooking still thick.

About a week ago, I 'invented' the Junior Bacon Mushroom Melt, and it really is legendary.

Essentially JBC add mushroom/cheese, no mayo.

I even got it on a Spicy Bacon Chicken Wrap (no ranch), and it was fantastic.

Well it's back, and they've finally completely butchered it beyond recognition.

Used to be my all time favorite fast food item, but every year they change it a little more, and it's just terrible now. I think tonight was the last time I'll ever order it again.
