It will be a shame to see this show go. During the recent U.S. elections SNL had the best Sarah Palin but I think MadTV had the best Barack Obama and John McCain... they just didn't get the publicity and recognition.

Bobby Lee, Michael McDonald, Keegan-Michael Key, Nicole Parker, Stephanie Weir, etc. they have a lot of talent and brilliant writing there. Someone in Fox upper-management is really screwing around, first wanting to axe King of the Hill and now actually cancelling MadTV. Weird!

Article about the cancellation of MadTV:

And all the Stewart ones, and Bobby Lee's crazy stuff. MadTV getting cancelled is stoopid. Hopefully people can rally and save MadTV, I think that's what actually saved King Of The Hill.

king of the hill is awesome! Dale is the most hilarious character there by far.

Anyways back to the OP, I really thought MADTV wasn't really all that funny to start with so I'm not surprised at all. Don't get me wrong, sometimes their shows are funny but most of the time it's pretty much lame sh*t.

I wasn't even sure how that show made it past a few episodes.

Someone who cares about success of Fox has to be thinking now that Obama's president AND we have Keegan-Michael Key doing the best Obama impersonation so far, Fox could capitalize HUGE on a key real-world political figure.

SNL capitalized on it's Palin, Hiliary & Bill Clinton (Bush was meh), having a great politician impersonation is good business.

SNL books A-list and barely survives

Mad TV books B to D list, shouldn't even survives.

Sketch comedy is dead.

Mad TV was awesome back in the days of Stewart, Ms. Swan, and the UPS guy.

Mad TV just isn't the same without Will Sasso, albeit Bobby Lee is hilarious, he can't save the flailing show.

Sketch Comedy is indeed dying, which sucks because i enjoy SNL, although i find they aren't very consistant with consecutive episodes

Fox always cancels the best shows
1) Arrested Development
2) Futurama
3) now Mad TV, truth be told though i stopped watching the past few years.
