View Full Version : 94 octane ins the NW!!!!! FINALLY!!!!

Ek9Max

For all of us NW boys.

Huskey at 250 Hawkstone Drive NW, Calgary.

Is now serving 94 octane! Verified by my buddy who went there today.

They only have 94 and 90 on all 4 of their pumps.

Wanted to let everybody know so that they keep getting it!

Finally i don't have to drive 20-30 minutes to get it. 4 minute drive is much nicer :)

Isn't 94 dangerous for your engine?

I wouldn't go pumping it into a stock econo-box, but high octane ratings keep a fuel from igniting before it is supposed to in a hot high-output engine. FYI.

Ahhh... I thought you put it in the AP1, I was going to ask if that's safe to do hahaha, because I was ready to head there right now and fill up mine :D

ya i will be using it in my ap1.

There's nothing wrong with using it in a stock s2000..... but you don't need anything over 91 octane....

Ya hopefully thsi drums up enough biz for them to keep 94 octane. I would hate for them to take it away cause nobody wants it....

instead of 94 and 90. the owner should hav ejust went with 94 and 87.

If you do use the Huskey website and search for Performance94, it shows 8 total stations with it for Calgary without the Hawkwood location making it 9.
I am going to go give it a try and see what happens, especially with the ethanol content.
All those people with chipped gti's and such could now also run on the 93 octane programs with so many locations.

just gave it a try, 95.4c/L, very good price, but it took me forever to figure out how to work the pump

if you guys aren't tuned for 94 i dunno about it.. the turbo guys here don't like it over the 91 v-power cause the ethanol mix leans out the fuel mixture as it passes over the o2 sensor..

I've got a supercharged Mini Cooper. I've been periodically filling with 94 octane when I'm nearby a Husky here in Edmonton. Do you think I should stick to 91 or am I safe to use 94?

Here's a post from '04 where I explain everything.

It's got nothing to do with leaning out the mixture as it passes over the O2 sensor (WTF?)

It's a true 94 octane fuel.

huskey on 68th St Ne just before 32nd Ave has 94 as well.. and for you regular users you get 90 for the price of 87 for winter months there

just so you guys know. these octanes will stay the same untill winter months are over.. i asked one of the huskey owners and thats what they said is going on with huskey and their higher octane gas...

11-24-2008, 01:52 PM
Noticed that the Huskey that ive been fillin up at for 2 years now has gone to 90-92-94! And the prices stayed the same!

They put just new 'stickers' overtop of the old octane levels, so im not really sure that they are actually selling 94 now on what use to be 92!

Can anyone confirm or know whats going on?

94 Octane for 90.4...cant complain if its true which i highly doubt

Anyone go to the Southwood Mohawk to confirm they have 94? Grr just filled up on Sunday at Shell. Gonna have to see how quick I can burn that gas outta my tank, time to bring out the leadfoot! LoL

sweet just filled up 94 at sandstone husky, the best part I can fill up 92 as medium grade if I want to save 5 more cents.

Regardless this is awesome 89 cents for 94. and as long as oil price continues to trade around 50 or below, we will see 50-60 cent oil back at the pump.

:D

Doesn't husky 94 ( ethanol) blend, mess up your o2 and wideband sensors? This is why I switched back to Shell 91. Also, is it true that the ethanol dries up the o-rings on your injectors? If not, I might be swayed to switch back to Husky 94.
