Does anyone know of any charitys this christmas geared towards gift related donations for children?

I know most dairy queens used to have a toy donation type of deal, i dont know if they still do.

Anyway, Im just looking for some ideas of places that will take brand new kids toys and get them where they would be most needed this xmas.

Thanks peeps.

Operation Christmas Child? That's for children in other countries though. Not sure if you wanted something local.

Hi 410440,

PM and I will give you some details on a charity donation that some good friends of mine are doing. They are donating to over 6 different charities for toy/gift donations for this Christmas.

I believe it would be a dual charge by both Beyond's spelling and grammar police.

I'll be participating in this through the calgary jeep association

The time has come to fill everyone in on the details, or at least as many as we can for now. The Four Wheel Stampeders invite all 4x4 owners out for the 7th annual Toys For Kids Christmas Cruise
Sunday December 7th
9:00-12:00
Bowness Park

The Toys for Kids Christmas Cruise will once again begin at Bowness Park, where we’ve met many times before. Meet at the park at 9:00 for those that need the time to decorate their vehicles in the proper Christmas type decoration. Judging will be carried on for the best decorated rigs once all are finished. 10:00 we’ll break out the coffee, hot chocolate, and donuts for around the campfire. 11:00 for a brief drivers meeting and introductory. At12:00 noon we pull out, hopefully under police escort once again.

Bring a new unwrapped toy for donation to two recipients this year. The Alberta Children’s Hospital and the Cerebral Palsy Association. Both are very appreciative of the past proceeds and are looking forward to working with us again this year.

The convoy will be taken to the Alberta Children’s Hospital and the rest of the toys will be delivered to the Cerebral Palsy Association the next day.

Due to the event being a Christmas event, and traffic will be stopped as the convoy goes by, it would be awesome to see each and every vehicle with some type of Christmas decoration. This not only shows the stopped traffic that we’re not getting escorted out of town but indeed are participating in an organized event.

I really hope to see as many 4x4’s as we have forum board users out for this event.

I look forward to seeing everyone once again.

I’m going to post a few links for wish lists if anybody needs some ideas for gifts.

Gunther

I'd like to encourage someone from the CJA executive or the membership to bring along the CJA club banner to hang up in Bowness Park. I've mentioned this in previous years too but no one takes the opportunity.

If you'd like,.. I can take you stuff aswell?
