I am about to purchase / lease a Chrysler 300C SRT8 6.1L or 300C 5.7L

What will happen with the warranty when company goes bankrupt ?

... As you might know, the Chrysler company is on the brink of running out of liquidities.
After being saved by a 25 billion package (along with the other 2 large American car companies) wants access to an extra 25 billion.

ask the dealership, they have all the papers to verify their claims in this matter.

with your SRT4, are you worried about the warranty ?

do you have 3 /60 and 5 /100? how will dealer honor it with Chrysler out of business?

I wouldn't be too worried about parts or mechanics if GM goes under. It will still be a viable business even if the cars are no longer being produced.

Use Daewoo as an example of what will happen:rofl:

this was said on another fourm

"if they file Chapter 11 bankruptcy, it means they are asking the govt. to assist them in making plans/schedule to pay their creditors. If they file Chapter 7 bankruptcy, then they are closing up shop!"

I don't see what you're getting at. Even if GM doesn't have dealerships anymore, the smart mechanics that work for GM would open up their own private shops to service GM vehicles. There is a huge opportunity there considering how many GM vehicles are on the road.

GM going bankrupt doesn't mean all the GM cars will vanish into thin air. Owners will still need parts and the aftermarket (and even OEM) parts suppliers could still make money on producing GM parts.

What does GM going bankrupt have to do with him buying a Chrysler product?

Holy shit Batman, the misinformation is sure flying fast about this.

1- The "Big 3" will NOT go under. The government WILL bail them out. There is no way they are going to put millions of people out of work and onto the welfare roles.
2- Chrysler isn't going anywhere soon. Until Cerberus finds a buyer it is business as usual.
3- Chrysler IS still doing leases. They are just not giving the sweet lease deals like they used to. The rates are now about the same as purchasing. They would rather sell it than lease it.
4- As long as Chrysler exists the warranty on their cars is still the same as it was sold as. That is not to say that the warranty will not change for future new car sales. However, if the sun should fail and the moon falls from the sky and Chrysler or any other company that exists go tits up, warranty goes out the door. The company would no longer exist and neither would their warranty.

"any other company that exists go tits up, warranty goes out the door." That was what I was aiming to find out :)

My bad. The same statement applies if you substitute Chrysler for GM.
