business casual is like shirt/dresspants don't really have to wear tie but wahtever.

i went to one. the testing is like 2 hours long i think. i don't really remember.

the tests like go up to 400 questions if i remember haha.
but you gotta think fast and be accurate.

the tests are general aptitude and iq tests as well as some comprehension and grammar tests.
after you pass the tests telus will call you back in a few days (the called me back 4 hours after i left) for and interview.
in the interview you basicly just have to demonstrate your sales and customer skills thru role playing with a hiring manager.

once all is said and done you play the waiting game while telus head office in BC calls your references and then gives the office the ok to hire you.

Good luck.

Its idiot testing, and believe me it doesn't weed all of em out!!! I saw people sleeping through training classes, couldnt put two sentences together in a conversation and worse.
My experiences at Telus were for the most part OK, but I'm not a fan of telemarketing, and thats all thier outbound sales position is.

i worked their for 2 months. I made my comission targets. But couldnt take it anymore after that. You gotta be happy doing what you do, and it just didnt seem worth it for all the bullshit you gotta deal with being a telemarketer... but you might like it who knows

The testing is very very easy...it just to see if your not a village idiot...what position is it for

Dress business casual.
However the test is a joke...
Its basically an entertaining psychological profile.

the test in general was easy. the first 3 or 4 series of questions are timed and the 400 MC have no time limit. i got the job and finished the training and passed but then i was laid off. our work was based on contract of others .they wanted me to transfer to other dept. but i am still in school so i never accepted the offer.
i worked for TELUS as an DA operator.

good benefits 30% off all telus services and company shares great company to work for

I did, but that still doesn't change my opinion.

I milked that place for all it was worth. THey treat their senior employees like ass. Unless you move up, those entry level positions are ass!

i don't think TELUS is that bad, the people i trained with was very nice and easy going. But really i didn't really worked for them. :(
may be because i was at a small office and i really impressed management, they really like me. she wanted to transfer me to calgary but i still have one more yr.

it should be ok when i graduate in april because i can apply in march and my test and profile would still exist and stand. so i don't have to go through everything.

I am another FORMER Telus employee!!! Of any company I wish that would burn to the ground....that would be the one! The only good part of that job was the people working there! Everything else sucked ass!!!!

Just a quick question, what is an average wage for the call center employees with telus? I am thinking about moving out there and possibly(hopefully) getting on with either telus or Bell further west. Reason I ask, right now i currently work for SaskTel in Saskatoon.

I work in Outbound...not too bad of a job! I work 4-9 Mon-Friday and make some good coin...but like Ben said before in a previous post...you turn into an un-ethical bastard!! I like my manager and STL though...so it's an alright job...we have fun!

what position are you applying for at telus?, my friend is currently in inbound where he takes calls concerning billing and peoples accounts, says he makes 16.25/hour and its pretty slack, I might be getting a job there too.
