10,000 rpm on a rotary is nothing really special.
There are a few rotary engines built up to be able to push 15,000 -16,000 rpm. It's extremely rare, but it's been done.
On a side note, that guy is a douche :P

I suppose I did forget about Rx-8's as I've dealt with mostly 2nd gen rx-7's lately.

The guy is claiming it is a rotary that redlines at 7k but he regularly runs it to 10k, but he says it only has 4 cylinders....

RX8 has a stock 9k redline, RB ecu reflash raises up to 9300.

Fuel cut on my old 04 hit somewhere around 9500, the ECU was totally stock

He's not that far off, I'm 30% sure all 3rd gen RX-7's came with LS motors from chevrolet. So they are V8's not V6's.:burnout:
