LOS ANGELES - Dr Pepper is making good on its promise of free soda now that the release of Guns N' Roses' "Chinese Democracy" is a reality.

The soft-drink maker said in March that it would give a free soda to everyone in America if the album dropped in 2008. "Chinese Democracy," infamously delayed since recording began in 1994, goes on sale Sunday.

"We never thought this day would come," Tony Jacobs, Dr Pepper's vice president of marketing, said in a statement. "But now that it's here, all we can say is: The Dr Pepper's on us."


I don't know if it will be only in the US, or if Canada is included, but thought I would pass on the info.

The only thing they have on drpepper.ca are contests so I doubt it. :thumbsdow

dr. pepper is poison. be thankful they don't have it in Canada :D

i personally know the guy at Dr. Pepper who spearheaded this promotion, and although all the press releases say free Dr. Pepper to "each American," it is in fact available to anyone who can print off a coupon and redeem it in the states. i've actaully argued with him about it because i'm an american but live in canada, and i want a free dr. pepper too, but unfortunately won't fly here.

so instead, why not go buy the new GNR album and listen to it tomorrow. it's actually a pretty good rock record.

the IGA in town has 2 one litre bottles for $1 right now. Time to stock up:)
