I am curious if anyone knows of any other companies OTHER THAN U-HAUL that offers rental vans/trucks.

The criteria:

- Must be able to be a one-way trip. IE: Pickup truck in Calgary, Drop off in Vancouver. I don't want a truck I have to bring back to where I got it.

- No moving companies, I only need the rental vehicle.

I tried Penske, their prices were great, but they didn't have one way service.

thanks!

I just did that in a u-haul. It was around $800 for the truck for 5 days and $300 in gas. The trucks they give for the long trips are new and in good shape. Just some info for comparison.

i beg to differ on the new trucks part there...
we took a truck to lethbridge.. stupid thing would not make it over 80 kms.. then when we got a good head wind it was a good 60 kms an hour... that hour and 45 mins trip turned into a good 3.5 hours.. HORRIBLE.. never rent uhaul again

I think 5 days and 2 hours is a little bit of a difference. Im sure they didn't give you the new one for your short trip.

They won't give you that driving to Vancouver, too long of a trip. The truck I drove to Van had 30,000k on it and did 130 for 9 hours.

Avis and Budget in calgary both rent cube vans, but I'm pretty sure they won't do a one-way rental.
