Old brake pad/rotors general metals disposal

I have recently changed the brake pads and rotors out of my car and I want to get rid of the old ones.

I am guessing throwing them in an ordinary dumpster is not a very good idea. Can I drop those parts in front of Canadian Tire just like how people drop them their used motor oil? Or where else should I throw them.
