Guy loaded with about 3600 mealworms decided to release them on the trains to create havoc. They arrested him pretty much right away so he wasn't able to release all his worms but the best part of the article was the part where they mentioned they had to interupt the train service to clean up the train before putting it back into service.

Total downtime: 3 MINUTES!

If this happened in Calgary, they would shut down a huge section and have shuttle buses for a few hours.

Well they are efficient when it comes to the clean up job. Can you imagine if they actually shut down their Subway system for any longer. It would be a complete disaster.

Of course, you'd obviously have to have the Hazmat team in there, and bomb squad, and whoever else is on the union list.

Then, they'll justify more raise on transit fees and parking spot..

Years ago, poison gas was released. These days, it's worms.

I think if I was a Japanese citizen, I'd prefer the latter....

its actually amazing to watch on the bullet trains. every time they reach the end stations, there is a lineup of neatly dressed maids (not the kinky kind) lined up, and as soon as everyone clears the train, they go in, flip all the seats around so that your always facing the direction of travel (easy foot pedal thing), replace all the head liners, and clean everything up, and then they get out and a whole new set of passangers get on.

Pretty neat to watch. In Calgary, they clean trains one a month if that I bet
