Reading too many different sources, but there is a daycare in lockdown.


Calgary police have arrested a man after an incident in Radisson Heights.

Officers were called to the condo complex on Radisson Crescent S.E., just before 5:00 p.m. Friday.

They are not saying why they were called or what the nature of the incident is.

A large police presence converged on the neighbourhood including dozens of officers, the Tactical Unit and Canine Unit.

Police also brought in a large armoured vehicle.

Police locked down a daycare and there were reports that up to 40 children were in the basement.

Residents in the community were told to keep the lights off in the upper floors of their homes and to stay inside.

We have a CTV News crew at the scene and will continue to update this story as details become available.

No kidding! My parents live in the area too and so do a couple of my friends so that was rather crazy for them. My parents live farther away and said they didn't hear anything so that was a bit of a relief. My friend couldn't get home from work and had to stay out in Sunridge mall for a while and do some Christmas shopping instead.

Geez... the neighbourhood is getting worse. When I was growing up there, nothing really happened at all! Was quite peaceful and had tons of nice neighbours. I guess that was like 20 years ago though. :(
