A friend gave up on this laptop, and after a little investigation I have noticed that the pin in the DC power jack is broken.
I have sourced the part on ebay for next to nothing, but don't feel confident enough in my soldering skills to attempt the repair on my own. Any recommendations on where I could take it to get it done?
It is an older laptop, so I don't want to be spending too much on this, obviously. The mobo will already be pulled when I take it in for soldering.
