some of you might have read the tipping thread in the food and dining forum...

at any rate, i'm thinking of buying a pizza delivery bag for picking up pizza and other take out food. does anyone know where I can buy one for a reasonable price? maybe someone works at a delivery chain and could "hook me up":D

in case anyone is interested, they have cheap-ass bags at Panago now. I think they're like $2 or something like that. these aren't pro bags, but might help keep your pizza hot if you want to pick it up and avoid the 1-2 hour wait (and the $10 delivery fee+tip) that is reality in the cgy.

Nice, are they single pizza bags, or can you fit 2 boxes in them?

i'm not sure exactly what kind of bags they are, i just happened to see some little ad in my mailbox yesterday. the bags look cheap - like a vinyl outside and a silver reflective inside. there are a couple little pieces of velcro to seal it.

these are definitely not insulated pro bags with nice carrying straps, etc., but for $2 they're probably not too bad. i called Russel Equipment the other day looking for a pro bag, but all they had was like a 3-pie bag for $70 or so (i only need a single maybe double pie bag).

EDIT: Panago introduces personal warming bags

Dec. 3, 2008, Vancouver–For a limited time, Panago will offer their customers a reusable bag to keep their pizzas hot on their route home. The reusable thermal bag, which customers can use to keep a wide range of foods warm, is available at Panago from December 1, 2008 to March 1, 2009, for $2. The uniquely designed bag is exclusive to Panago.

“As people become increasingly stretched for time, it is evident they are turning to better quality take out options for their families,” says Alex Green, VP Marketing. “The insulated pick up bag is a reusable tool that will allow our pick-up customers the opportunity to maintain the fresh, high quality of Panago products from our ovens to their tables during the commute home,” he states. Pick-up orders represent a large portion of business for Panago. Locations such as the downtown Toronto store have 45% of customers opting to pick up their orders.

“With high gas prices effecting delivery charges across the board, the pick-up segment is becoming an increasingly important part of our business,” finishes Green.

This week Co-op has a deal where if you buy a Delissio Ultimate pizza, you get a free thermal reusable bag (see page 7 of the flyer).

i wonder if a pizza could fit in there, cause it looks like a lunch bag not a pizza bag (and who would need a thermal bag for a frozen pizza anyhow, haha?)?

I've seen a few of these pizza type bags at Sobeys locations as well, they are about $4 and keep the hot stuff hot and cold stuff cold.

Found a great deal on a pro pizza bag! thought i'd share the info in case anyone else is interested.

civic_boii sent me a PM and tipped me off to the Real Wholesale , who carries a Johnson and Rose bag for $31.99. The dimensions are 18x18x5' (or 20x20x5" - i didn't measure), and the bag looks like this (but not exactly):

it's a total pro insulated bag, not a cheap foil-lined vinyl one like they are giving out at panago. they had one left at the location by chinook, but civic_boii said they have 4 at the NE location.

being only $31.99, this bag will pay for itself in just a few pizza orders. The best part, though, is that you don't have to wait 1-2 hours on the delivery guy, and risk getting a congealed pizza cause he made a few deliveries already before bringing yours.

Where do they have these at superstore? Are they back in the small appliances?

it's not at superstore, but instead at the Real Canadian Wholesale store (kinda like costco but no membership). They are in the kitchenware section.

Yes I know the place...just your post says Real Canadian Superstore, so you will want to change it. ;)

I haven't been to the Wholesale club in a while, it will be worth a trip.

Thanks for letting me know.

I have one of these that I'll part with for $20 if anyone's interested. I never thought I'd have any use for it but if I can sell it then great.

Caveat is that it has Pizza Hut's logo on it :)

Bump. Bags at Panago for $1 with pizza purchase if anyone cares. Didn't buy one but look pretty decent.
