1. CDMA networks don't support SIM cards.

2. This basically takes all the stuff you can store on the card and output it to your computer. This might include your contacts, calendar or maybe a game. That way when y ou put your phone in for service for 5 months, get it back and it's still broken, you can easily reload your old information into the new phone. It's pointless for smartphones since this can be done with the software that comes with them but it's good for cheaper phones.
