I bought this CD last week not knowing too much about it besides he has produced for ATCQ, Mos Def and Scarface. The only thing I have heard about it was that a friend highly recommended it. So after listening to it probably 10 times this past week I can say this is a dope CD!

It is a concept album about how "Adams" exploits with women ultimately result in his untimely demise. Production wise it is reminiscent of Kanye West's production circa College Dropout. Anyone that is disappointed in Kanyes recent shift to pop and autotune will like this album. The album is filled with guest appearances from Redman, Kanye, Phonte from Little Brother, Singers Bilal and J Davey and highly regarded newcomer to the Hip Hop scene Kid Cudi. Some of the songs are straight R & B, others have a pop/rock feel but most of the album is straight hip hop.

Lyrically this album can be a little dirty, but a lot of the dirty lines will make you laugh. Highlights include "Morning Wood", the opening song sung by 88 Keys about how he likes a woman that can take care of his morning wood. "Handcuff Em" with a familiar sample used and includes the line "this is a 2 way street because every time i bust a nut you get something to eat". Close Call features Phonte from Little Brother which is about how he and his woman stopped using the pill and she trapped him by getting knocked up.

If you are into rap music that is creative and pushes the limits of the genre then I highly recommend checking out this album

8/10
