i've got an 01 Lude SE 170xxxkm, 10/10 condition, 5 spd, etc etc

someone offered to trade me his 03 Dodge SRT-4 plus cash possibly for my Lude, he'll send me all the info if i'm even interested on it. Is it worth my time? The only reason i'd be interested in it is because the resale is higher... or is it not really? I know the SRT-4 was worth less than the Lude as well brand new so that plays into some consideration as well... i've never driven one of these, has anyone here? Again, the only reason i'd consider it is if i could sell it again in the summer for more than my Lude (... but I don't know how hard it is to sell a Neon SRT-4 ^_^

thanks guys.

No its a clean title, and i live in Toronto where cars are cheap.

just take a look at an autotrader search:

I truly do not know. The prices are pretty similar here and I'm thinking maybe its just really tough to sell an SRT-4?

I would definatly do it as long as everything checks out on the SRT-4. (And the kms aren't crazy high)
Also a very easy car to sell (at least what I found with the one we had)

If I remember correctly SRT-4s were only available in Canada as 2004 and 2005 models. The 03s were limited production and only in USA. This means the guy probably bought it in the states for very very cheap. I wouldn't do it. I know that here it would be easier to sell a prelude.

I found that the re-sale value of Preludes are fairly good-high. They prices on Preludes stays relatively on the higher side, given that it's a discontinued production car, it gives it more of a hard to find. If you've got a prelude that's in excellent condition, I would suggest to keep the car instead of trading it in for that SRT-4. Those damn cars depreciate until they reach a negative number.. LOL!

No but seriously, stay with the Lude. If I didn't get in a car accident, I would still drive my Prelude right now.

The SRT4 is worth more and is more fun to drive. If it's in good shape, I would do the trade.

Keep the lude. SRT-4's are nice, but if something goes wrong.. it's a pain to fix.

What? Parts are cheaper than Honda parts and they are actually pretty reliable cars as I can say from experience. The only issue I would have is that most are owned by young kids as their first turbocharged car and modded poorly and bagged and like Aleks said it's an American car so you should get more information.

Resale on an SRT-4 with low mileage should be higher than your high-mileage lude. I'd go for it.

Correct, just sold a mint Canadian SRT4 with 50kms for $18,900

What's the Lude worth? $12k, maybe $13k in a private sale.

With 170k, a Toronto car won't fetch $12k. I'd say closer to $9-$10k.

Do it.
03's don't have LSD, so winter driving could be a bitch with that much power and FWD. If it's never been modded that's a steal of a deal... err, trade.

I would do it, Just for the difference in driving experience alone.

Thing is the interior is nothing compared to the prelude IMHO. that might be a slight "downgrade" for you, but in terms of power, and more importantly fun-factor. It would be sweet.

They handle so SO well to. Mopar offers staged and individual mod's through the dealership. And even though you dont have any warrenty left, its nice to know that they are inhouse developed parts.
