I'd like to purchase a used enclosed car hauler, then when I'm finished with it sell it. After looking into shipping costs, I figure I'll come out a hell of a lot further ahead this way, than paying somebody else to do it.

Unfortunately I have no idea where to begin looking for something like this. Are there any stores in Calgary that specialize in these type of things? Any RV store?

I search online and I see prices all over the map, and things ranging from a dinky 1 car hauler for a few thousand (which is what i need - to move 1 small auto that weighs ~1,700lbs) to something where you can drive several Hummer H1s into it for 12k.

I know they are pretty expensive but if your looking to sell it after your done with it might not be bad. Or you can just ask these guy's if they will help you out with moving your car lol

why don't you just get a trailer from uhaul and do a good job covering it? won't be more than a couple hundred...

it'd be moving in january/feb/mar/apr more than likely - that's one hell of a lot of possible snow/slush/salt to get on it.

if it weren't winter time i'd consider an open one, but I need enclosed now.

Load it on a uhaul deck; head over to a boat shop (there's at least 3-4 in calgary that do this) and get it wrapped... Yep, boat wraps... Seals them up tighter than a - n/m this isn't ask leo.

I think for the price you pay + shipping and worrying about what condition it's in when it gets to you, I'd rather get the first one Dj_Stylz posted. Pretty sure the guy will go a bit lower then the asking 9k. You're going to sell it afterwards anyways so save youself the hassles of getting that one transported from the US to Calgary when the other one is in Chestemere.

Could you buy the heat gun and do it yourself?

I wasn't suggesting I was going to buy one from ebay sight-unseen, esp. from the US.

I merely was using that as a sample - 4-5k, not fancy or anything special.
