So I'm getting into playing some rec hockey after Christmas, and need some equipment. Now that Sport Swap has closed, does ayone have any suggestions of where to get decent equipment meanwhile not having to pay an arm and a leg?

You can get decent cheap stuff from sport check. Not crazy cheap, but reasonable..

Sport Chek is a consideration. Sport Mart is too - and might be a bit cheaper. Here are some discount coupons if you wish to go to Sport Mart:

You can find some entry level gear at B&P Cycle... I really like the sales staff there, might be a bit far from where you live as it is near Forest Lawn.

Definite recommendation for Sports Traders in Crowfoot. Randall and his staff is awesome and will take good care of you and make sure you get everything you need. He sells both used and new.

look up what you want from the locals, then buy online.

Thanks for the info guys. I actually bought some cheaper Eqpt at Sportsmart. Not great, but will suffice for my mediocre skills :D
