I know its still a bit early. Ice is super delayed this year and I`m sure certain rinks will be ready before others. A lot of people here are probably willing to make the drive to other parts of the city so...
Post up rinks and directions to the ones that are frozen and ready for some puck.

thanks

This would be nice to know. Its apparently going to be cold as hell for the next little while so hopefully with the outdoor rinks will be around shortly. It's been a long winter so far without the rinks that's for sure.

hidden valley was iced friday but it was really thin...prob one of the first few layers...after this snowfall it should clear up by midweek and we'll be good to play for a while.

Hidden Valley was iced last Tuesday and I played since Wednesday but it's not perfect yet. Hamptons is iced also and I believe Whitehorn is good.

I better go get my New Brighton club membership card made... I've been procrastinating since April, this will be worth it though!

I went to check out the one in edgemont off of JLB.
Its flooded but needs a good shoveling.
Has barely been skates on.
Theres also a nice big hill right by the rink with a prettty good jump made, I brought my snowboard and did a few runs. Its prettty scary if you go all the way up the hill.

Drove past Haysboro and Canyon Meadows last night.
Canyon Meadows was being flooded as I pulled in. Haysboro had people skating on it. Only one rink seemed to be open. Also Oakridge had no lights on, so who knows if its even been flooded or not.

Highwood (central NW) has had skaters on it since mid-early November, boards repainted over summer, fully fenced plus new lighting 2 years ago.

For those that live in Highwood, please consider volunteering on their outdoor rink replacement project - approximately $400,000 will be spent to completely replace this rink including new cement base, new NHL style boards with (probably) fencing on top (plexiglass too vulnerable to vandals), new lighting (LED?) and seating areas. Artificial ice was considered, but the costs of running a plant would bankrupt the community association inside of 2-3 years.

brighton/cranston/and the lakes themselves require a membership or a drop in price (I think at Cranston)

however... the mckenzie towne one and the one in copperfield seem to be open (though signs say closed)
