So im looking at getting into something new in the near spring...Im thinking my budget will be around 22-25k max. I want something Nice, Clean, Reliable, and reasonable on maintence. So far here's where I'm leaning, but I am open to idea's.

1. Acura TL
2. Acura TSX
3. Lexus IS300
4. G35

Let me know what you think or any sugestions! Im thinking I'll look local or import from the states

Out of those 4 I would go for the Acura TL. I've driven all 4 of those and TL would be my pick.

Could be...I dont know...It may totaly depend on the car ect. But with our economies so low it might be worth it...Im still under contemplation

SchoolnU's IS300 thats for sale on here. With the dollar being crap it will cost you more to import one from the US than it would to buy it here.

Acura will have no warranty if imported.
However all of these cars you can buy in Canada for the equivilant of importing.

I've seen it...Its not my style...Nice car but the color doesnt do anything for me...If it was white or Gun metal i would probably consider it. Im pretty set on that TL or TSX, but you have to have options

Definitely the TL out of that list. Oh you have options alright, so many cars to pick from!

Agreed! To many!!! Hence why ill take anything into cosideration, I just want some feedback from either owners of these cars or people that have driven them. Its time for something practical but still something I want to drive and can make look nice ;)

A4? BMW has very good rates and incentives right now so you could lease 335 for pretty cheap

Importing from the US, at current exchange, is not at all worth it. Are you looking at AWD?

:werd: Horrible time right now. I was looking at a 30k car in the US and it would cost me 38k CDN right now. Thats not including the price of taxes, duty and transport. Look into buying something local. My vote goes to the g35 or TL

335 FTW. I am on my way down the AZ the 23rd and I should be able to find something decent.

I've driven all those and I would take the G35. You can get one much cheaper than the rest, and power delivery is best in the group.

The Acuras are way overpriced for FWD vehicles.

I don't like any of the choices to be totally honest, but those Acura's are hugely overpriced FWD vehicles. TL-S is alright, but still isn't something to write home about. I drove an 07 for 3 weeks as my DD and wasn't impressed tbh. The TSX is dead slow and way overpriced, the IS300 is alright, in standard and in white or black only, and the G35 is somewhat sluggish, poor on gas, hundreds of them in Calgary haha, but the best choice of your list. Get it standard, drop and tint it, put some nice wheels on it and call it a day.

I'd get an STI for the same price or an E46 M3.

Totally agree. Acura's handle great for fwd cars, but they are still fwd.

G35 gets my vote on that list. Most fun for sure.

Agree for the most part but the G35 still isn't that great during the winter even with winter tire. I drove a g35 with winter tires last winter and I still got stuck. G35 is a gas guzzler as well so IMO best pick out of the 4 would be the TL. Owning a TSX myself, it lacks a whole lot of power and the power to weight ratio is crap (200hp/166ft lb - 3318lbs). Interior of the TL> the other 3.

Hmm STI sounds nice, same with an M3. But how is the upkeep and gas mileage. I want something that woke break me to fix and that I can still have some fun with. Anyways...im thinking now...not sure what to think

The E46 M3 is on Consumer Reports "Average" reliability list. It should be pretty reliable. It'd be less maintainence as a whole than a WRX STI. don't get a TSX, you'll regret it. Just drive them all and see which one you like. My bet is on the M3 (although they didn't get to be any good until after 03).

I would recommend the TL, it will be reliable, decent looking car, good interior and decent performance.

Try looking for a 2006 330i. They're slightly over your budget but you get way more car for the money.

STIs and E46m3s are everywhere. They're also starting to look very dated.

Well, I started to look at the new civic's, I really like the 2006-2008 civic SI. I think that is a possibility for sure. As for the Beeema...I dont know I loved my 2002 3series but the upkeep was TERRIBLE...

I might be selling my 02 IS300, red exterior, it's the premium package so it came with LSD, 5 speed of course. 85000kms always services at Lexus of Calgary, originally purchased at lexus of Calgary. 2 sets of wheels, one with summers, one with winters, 3m on the hood, no accidents mint. $18000

22-25k.. what year TL are you interested in, the 04 and ^ i'm assuming, pre 04s (99-03) i wouldnt touch with a ten foot pole, Type S's or Aspecs even, underpowered, tranny burning Hondas ftl, although there was the oil jet kit update, i still wouldnt get one.

04-08s had the most amount of torque steer i've ever experienced in a vehicle. Dynamic package (6spd) Brembos didnt stop you any much faster. Before i left they were doing a power steering line recall on literally all UA6/7s, make sure you look into that before getting one.

Other than that i'd say they're pretty reliable models from what i recall from my stealership days. Very forgiving in snow driving provided you get some good winters. Oil changes you could literally do on your driveway (easy access oil filter/plug).

I wish they had put SH-AWD in the 04-08 models, would have been a really nice car, the FWD kills it for a luxury vehicle IMO
