Hi guys,
I'm wondering if you guys can help me to unlock my car.
I turned on my car and heat it up 30 mins ago and took out the snows and then when I was done I got locked out.

Is there anyone can unlock my car please.
My car's lock is already broken on the side because on Monday someone broke it in, I just don't know how to unlock it with tools.

Please help. I'm willing to pay $100 to unlock it because the car is running right now.

Why dont you pay a tow truck driver $100? What kind of car is it? Have you tried getting in with a coat hanger...It dosent take any skill...lol..

Why would I tow the car? its in my house I was suppose to go somewhere but I got locked out. I tried to open it but I'm kinda scared it might get worst.

AMA if you have a memeber. But I also think some tow truck drivers have the tools and ability to open it up for you.
But it might take a long time for someone to come to do it for you because of the winter conditions.

haha. call city wide towing (or any towing company) and they'll send someone out to unlock your door. it'll cost around 70 dollars and if you tell them it's running they might make it out faster.

This info would be helpful.

I remember when my brother once locked himself out of his car while we were at the car wash. We went inside the office, took a hanger and walked back to the car. Took about 20 minutes (as neither of us had done it before).

Give it a try.

uh yeah, they will. call them up right now and ask. this exact scenario (doors locked/car running) happened to me a few weeks ago and they gave me a number to call (which turned out to be city wide.) they were there in 20 minutes and i was out $69.50. i keep a spare in my wallet now.

It's been fixed but it took so long to make it done due to weather condition.

Thanks for the help, really appreciate it :)

Glad it worked out for you. There's these little key storage containers that are available for less than $5 which are magnetized on the back. It's slightly larger than your key, you place the key inside and then stick it to the inside of your fender. My mom had one in there for years and about 2 years after she put it in there, she locked herself out and finally used it.

Isn't it illegal to leave your car running with the keys in it?

Ex-gf managed to lock THREE sets of keys in her car, with it running... took me a few with the coat hanger, especially because it was -30 and my fingers kept going numb. Funniest part was cops driving by, looking at me and just driving on...

This. I've got two on the keychain (one is quickrelease for heating up), one in my wallet and one in the house. It costs what, $3 to cut a spare key?

Theres a shoe/leather store in Northland mall close to the Futureshop and across from the furniture store that'll cut keys. Charge something like $3.25 for one last time I went there.

Girlfriend had 3 keys cut for 30 bucks at saturn for her 2002 SC1. Unless you have a chip in the key or are getting a fob programmed, it's pretty cheap.

I take it you have no idea what that term means. Vigilante moderating is "mini-modding" done by members that are not part of the forum staff. Imagine a situation where someone breaks the rules, and a regular member posts "OMG HE BROKE THE RULES OMG BAN BAN BAN!" That would be considered vigilante moderating, since reporting broken rules is what the Report button is for.

Team_McLaren cannot possibly break Rule 4 because he is a moderator.

uh... there's a stupid code that comes with the car and you need to bring that code to the dealership to get spares. read the manual.
unless something changed in the car without changing generations.

Well, I don't know what you're driving but it's not a 5th gen cd5. I know for my bimmer its like $200 because it has all these options on it, but this is an old Honda. It's just a normal key correct? So WTF would they charge you that much? Better yet, why would you buy it for that much?

well for a 94 accord with 305 clicks it does the job and gets me everywhere i want without worries
point is. the key has some stupid chip in it and the manual says you can only get copies at the "stealership"

Grogador
12-14-2008, 09:55 PM
key for a 94 with a chip? stealership is living up to its name... besides, you only need it to open the door so your silly ass can fetch the real key...

I drove a 1994 Honda Accord and had a key cut at Canadian Tire.

I think that if you lock your keys in a car - the chip key doesn't matter in terms of the door locks, just the starter itself.

I have like, 7 keys. :D

when i first got my compustar installed, i accidentally locked my keys in the car. i wasn't used to my engine shutting off and my doors auto locking right after i closed the door at that time.. thank god for AMA!

Since you're telling me you have a 94 accord with 305 clicks that does the job, why the hell do you need a $100 key? Wouldn't you get a normal key that does the job, like your accord?

OBVIOUSLY the Honda manual is going to tell you go to a Honda dealership...

So i'm wondering does your key look like a normal house key or does it have the lock/unlock/alarm integrated ON the key?

i never said i went to copy the key

um.. no it's a key key
but it's got a big chunk on the end
but the car also came with a valet key without the big chunk
it only opens the 2 doors and starts the car
can't get into the trunk/glovebox
