Does anyone have an old/broken/pos laptop ide hard drive that I can have for cheap?. I just need it for a place filler, it will never function. Preferable in NW, as I live in Royla Oak

I need it so I can bolt the hard drive compartment closed on my laptop. switched to a bus 16G flash

there needs to be a hard drive in it for the compartment to close? Never seen a setup like that...

sometimes the compartment is a sleeve around the drive, and then slide locks in place, with a final screw to prevent it from moving.

If you dont have a drive in it, it doesnt slidelock in place because its too flimsy.
