I've got a set of loose winter tires and loose alloy wheels (no tires mounted on them) that I need mounted and balanced. Where's the cheapest place to get them done ASAP??

Urban Expressions charges about the same too. Ask for Lucy to get the beyond discount. :D

I'd stay away from Canadian Tire.

I was gonna call Urban Exp, but I figured I'd see if anyone knows any other reliable shops since Urban Exp is still pretty busy.

Haha, CT. Um know. I learn that the hard way last year with another set of rims that got all effed up. On the plus side, I complained to the service manager, got cost of the work refunded and a service monkey fired.

You should be fine. In general, it's not the name of the place that you got to worry about, it's the person employeed by the place working on your car.

If you're having them installing them as well, Just make sure the place hand torques the lugs to OEM specs, and doesn't just use an impact wrench to tighten them.

It's not like the dealership has never mounted tires before. Both of the above will stand behind their work. Urban X will probably be the better deal but the wait might be a bit longer. Actually Honda is booking end of December appointments now so maybe not.

I ended up taking mine down the street to a local garage and paying the $100 just for the convenience.

Go to Wal Mart, I got mine mounted and balanced for around $58 after gst. CDN tire was gonna charge $130
Only thing is you can't make an appointment ahead of time so maybe bring your your rims and tires separately if possible

Yeah seems that's the going rate at a lot of shops. I called a bunch of them yesterday and some where as high as $130.

I remember a few years ago, I used to do them for people for $10.

I think stampede gm is $20 a tire, but the best part is it's near downtown, if you work there, and it opens until midnight from monday to thursday which is pretty cool.

I graduated from there in 04, and I'm sure its the same mech. teacher (kellington) he is a great guy and would only let his more mature/experienced students touch customer cars or items, most of the monkeys that joked around in that class didn't get to touch anything.

Kellington is a rad guy, but no matter what... they're still high school kids. Go for it if you just have black steel rims you're not worried about getting scratched.

I spent half of high school in that shop and didn't know anyone who was good at mounting tires.
