So we went and rode at Lake Louise on saturday.

The actual Thermometer termperature was -38C when we got there.

On the very first run I got to the bottom and looked at my friends face.

His nose was bright white and there was a big white line around his goggles where they met his face. He didn't even realize until I pointed out his face looked like it was literally frozen... I guess it was, he got frost bite pretty bad. lol

So anyways, he's all worried about his face now. Thinks he might get scarring or something.

Has this happened to anyone else? What can he expect?

Also to everyone going to the hills in this weather, wrap up your face!

I got frostbite on my finger tips and face during my days in seismic. My finger tips get numb when the temp is below 5*C, and my face gets all blotchy red around the same temp.

edit: under normal warm/room temperatures, you wouldn't even know I'd had it

editx2: Depending on how bad he was frostbitten, he might get some peeling on his face. My face skin looked like a mummies for a month afterward, but it does heal.

I got pretty bad frostbite one year playing hockey in -25 weather lol.
Weird thing is only my right ear got frostbitten, it was much bigger than my other ear for about 2 weeks but now its back to normal.
I went out to Sunshine yesterday too, -30 our high for the entire day and they didnt start the gondolas till noon.
