I have been looking into the network technician program at SAIT. My main goals would be continuing my education into a more security related field. Has anyone taken or is in this program and could recommend it? How are the employement opportunities post grad?

Do a little research..its easy just go on the SAIT website.

Based on 2007 graduate employment statistics, there were 13 graduates. 9 graduates responded to the SAIT callbacks and 8 were employed in the field. The average salary median was $42,250.

I would say employment opportunities seem pretty good. Should be easy to find a job once the economy is doing better.

If you're looking at just security I'd go straight for a certification. SAIT's ITNS program has one network security course that does a good job teaching you the basics but it won't get you a security-related job.

I took network engineering technology, I believe its the one before network technician.

Our NNT class was harder and sait made the class easier if this is the right one I'm thinking of,

All and all for my main course it was focused on cisco, and little minor stuff.

Currently I'm working in the field that I minored in and I love it.
