OR whatever you call th person who designs web sites for you. I am starting an online business that requires a website to be made up. I have a very good idea what I want but I have no idea how to go about making it. Anybody here do that for a living and what kind of cost is involved in something like this? Or anyone here have someone they would recommend? I already have the domain name and have done a search on it to see if it is available.

We offer web design services, and may be able to help you. Fire me off a PM with some particulars and I'll ballpark it for you.

I'm not a designer, but I have designers employed. If the project isn't big enough I may be able to throw a project in.

Depending on what you require, I would be happy to help. I do not have a programmer capable of e-commerce sites at this time, but a static site would not be a problem... and I can give you a better rate than most to boot!

Give me a PM with your wish list, I would have to think I would be the lowest price of the established boys on this forum.

Cheers.

I need a programmer as well pparently but thanks anyway.

All Others: Please only respond if you are capable of programming as well. And not looking for someone who has only ever done 1 site and it was for their buddy. I'm looking for pros here. Thanks.

You might want to specify what kind of programmer youre looking for. If you just need a few pages thrown together with not much more than a contact form then most people can help you out.

If your looking to build a custom application you will need a Java, PHP, ASP, or other kind of developer.

For osCommerce, you're gonna need a PHP programmer--pm if you want a 'pro' but they aren't cheap.

Make sure if you are hiring a PHP programmer that he knows both platforms (4&5) in and out, or your just setting yourself up for trouble.

osCommerce is a joke! Sure it works, not secure, holds all visa numbers in a table, its stupid and I hated working with it.

The site is till up and making a bit of money for a local celebrity "miss molly", but wouldnt touch it again.

I know of a great java developer that is looking for work.

PM me if you want his details.

It's looking like this is going to be wayyy more costly than I expected so it is on hold for now. Thanks to those who replied.
