View Full Version : 350z The ultimate driving machine

I purchased one from California just this summer (when cdn $ was strong) and only drove it for a month. The car was just awesome..., in speed, torque, handling, and its looks,,, what a fucking sexy car. i was cutting corners effortless with a decent speed, merging on roads nicely, just perfect handling. I still had my s2000 when I made the purchase so i have to garage my Z for months... Finally i sold it! And now started to drive the 350z this winter time and O...M...G... is there anything this car can't do? I am shock with its ability to handle the snow, icy, treacherous roads of Calgary considering it is a RWD. I'm super impress with this car.

I've owned the s2 and the 350z and fond them both super fuin cars. Way rather have the s2 though. Found them both lacking in tourque though ... follow in my footsteps and go M3 next. Still wont fix the torque bug but the next level if you've enjoyed the s and the z

I dunno,

I'm not disagreeing with you, but to me, its far from perfect.

I think when it set a level of standard as did Nissan with their HO 3.5L

however, its soon to be 2009 and there are plenty of cars that can challenge the 350z easily for even less than the MSRP
There are new models that just weren't around when this car was introduced and to that I give Nissan credit.

There are cars in a lower class which have much higher quality interiors, such as the VW GTI and also as quick or quicker such as in the case of the Cobalt SS

That being said, its a fun car with plenty of zip and has some classic lines.

Personally though, @ the new MSRP I'd look at a 135, EVO, STI, S3 etc...

I love my 350z also, however i have a pathfinder for winter so mine is in storage. I grabbed mine from the US when the cdn dollar was high in the summer 2007.

one other aspect of the car that i think is awesome is the fuel efficiency. Around town it is good and on the hiway it absolutely sips gas, even with a heavy foot. This was a nice bonus as my last sports car was a rotary and while it was awesome and fast it had low range per tank.

i have a CRV awd, which is my winter daily driving. i only drive the Z when the roads are clear. However, i did try driving it when there was a heavy snow last week, and thats when i was shocked bout the handling it gave me on icy, snowy roads.

I think the 350z kills the s2000! :poosie: The lack of torque in the s2000 and space turns me offfffffffff

all the best for the OP, at least you are very satisfied with your purchase, enjoy it while you can, pretty soon you'll be wanting more (don't we all do)

hey you cant compare cereal grain to an mx-5, nevermind a 350z.

OP great that you got a new car, but the 'ultimate driving machine' title is misleading, i was looking forward to seeing a veyron on tank tracks with grappling hooks that wrap around poles to take 10g corners.

you cant consider it an ultimate driving machine by only having driven an S2 and 350z.. so far from what i've driven, it's an NSX w/ comptech S/C, now thats a fun fken car.
I'm sure there are a 100 other ones out there.

but .. congrats :dunno:

edit: 2EFNFAST, that vid of you driving back and forth on your driveway

^sorry to disappoint you nizmo, but i did edit my title 5mins after i made the thread [didn't wanna piss the true Ultimate driving machines (bmw drivers)].. i'm sure there's tons of cars way more faster than my 350z, but with my budget at the moment this is all i can afford. I just made this thread to give my own personal review, my own opinion, and experience. as i conclude, i'm super happy with my first ultimate driving machine

^ That's what matters and that's the way it should be.

The reality is that it's in the hands, feet, and eyes of the beholder. Most people will never drive an 350Z or NSX or S2000 or Reventon or 599 GTB or CCXR (3 or 4 of you have driven all these cars and better I'm sure).

It is the best sports car in history. Even greater then the Mustang and Camaro combined.

What ? hvn't heard this kind of comment on 350Z for few years ..

Not a bad car still .. but .. not that great in today's standard.

Still, good price for a sporty car, for ~$20K good value. :)
